Cloud Computing gives users access to large pools of resources on demand with a utility price model and thereby introduces the ability for developers to affect operational cost of an application. However, this ability is yet to be fully understood. The presenter investigated the price models of several Cloud Computing providers. He describes several ways to think about scalability and cost efficiency when designing and programming Cloud Computing applications. The presentation will focus on how to turn the mindset of the programmer to encompass the new responsibility of operational cost efficiency.
